‘stel de stad een vraag’ is het derde luik van het CAESUURproject ‘beelden in de openbare ruimte van Middelburg’.

In het eerste ( het nissenproject | 1997 ) schonken 14 kunstenaars [ m/v ] eenvoudigweg kunstwerken aan de stad.
Het tweede luik ( terloopsMiddelburg | 2005 – ’06 ) toonde wat de stad voor een 17-tal kunstenaars, schrijvers, designers, poëten, musici, etc. in hun werk betekende. Zo doende voegden ze een nieuwe ‘kaart’ toe.

In het onderhavige, derde luik ( 2016 – ’17 ) stellen meer dan 25 makers en maaksters uit binnen- en buitenland een aantal vragen aan de stad die normaal gesproken niet gesteld worden.

Als introductie op het caCAESUURrprogramma 2017 – stel de stad een vraag – maakte de in Barcelona werkende en studerende Núria Bofarull^Spanje in augustus 2016 op ons verzoek een werk.
Het werd een video met een ambigue tekst van Oscar Wilde, The Preface, gepubliceerd in 1891.
